Attacking Midfielder Manchester United (MU), Shinji Kagawa, anxious to return to his homeland next summer. Kagawa will return to Osaka as part of the Red Devils squad that will undergo a pre-season tour of 2013. In addition to playing against his former club Kagawa, Cerezo Osaka, on July 26, 2013, MU was also scheduled to meet Yokohama Marinos, three days earlier.
"Cerezo Osaka is a club that laid the foundation of professional soccer to me. Club has been after me before going to Europe," said Kagawa.
"Cerezo is where I spent the first few days as a player. Means, Osaka is my favorite city," he added.
"For Yokohama, I used to play in their stadium with the Japanese national team. I never scored a goal at the stadium. Favorite stadium as well as a very nice atmosphere. Yokohama is a beautiful city by the sea. I think everyone will like it," said Kagawa.
MU has announced the schedule for preparation for the Asia tour next season. In addition to Japan, Sir Alex Ferguson will also be playing against A-League All Star in Sydney (20.07.2013) and against Kitchee FC in Hong Kong (29/07/2013).
